Unofficial Weather Watcher Live Updates

I've recently posted some unofficial Weather Watcher Live updates in the Weather Watcher Live forums. These updates will make their way to a public release sometime next week if no issues arise.

Weather Watcher Live 6.0.0.44 (Beta)

The changes are as follows:

ADDED: "Today's Max" and "Today's Min" tray tooltip values -- to display the max/min temperatures reached.

CHANGED: The "Today's High" and "Today's Low" tray tooltip values now display the high/low from the Daily forecast.

CHANGED: Hourly forecast data was caching for 12+ hours for most weather stations. Made a tweak to decrease the cache time. WeatherBug is currently working to release a permanent fix (should be out soon).

FIXED: Links to "World --> [TWC] Close/Far Local Satellite" maps in the Weather Watcher Live map list.

FIXED: For some weather stations, the wind was resetting to "N 0" after updating the weather.

Weather Watcher 5.6.30

The changes are as follows:

FIXED: Links to "World --> [TWC] Close/Far Local Satellite" maps in the Weather Watcher map list.

FIXED: Adjusted the weather data cache time to prevent the weather data from being locally cached too long. This caching issue was most noticeable when the weather was updated between 12 AM - 1 AM.

Weather Watcher Live 6.0.0.40 (Beta)

The changes are as follows:

FIXED: The temperature images in the slider at the bottom of the "NOW" section of the main Weather Watcher Live were not displaying the images properly when displaying the temperature with tenths and in Celsius.

FIXED: After changing the conversion settings in the "Conversion" tab of the Weather Watcher Live Options window, the main Weather Watcher Live window was not refreshing to reflect the new conversion settings.

FIXED: The map image in the "NOW" section of the main Weather Watcher Live window was being cached too long for locations outside of the US -- causing the map image to either not display or display an outdated map image.

FIXED: Wind was not converting properly in the Hourly forecast.

The changes are as follows:

FIXED: The weather data was being cached too long -- causing Weather Watcher to display outdated forecast data. This issue was primarily affecting locations outside of the US.

Weather Watcher Live 6.0.0.38 (Beta)

The changes are as follows:

ADDED: Splendid skin setting to remove the news bar from the bottom of the "NOW" section of the main Weather Watcher Live window. Click the "SETTINGS" link at the bottom of the NOW" section of the main Weather Watcher Live window to access this new setting.

ADDED: Additional error handling to the Splendid skin to catch unhandled JavaScript errors.

FIXED: Settings from the "Conversion" tab of the Weather Watcher Live Options window were not being applied to the weather data in the "DAILY" section of the main Weather Watcher Live window.

FIXED: When viewing the temperature in Celsius, the Temperature Rate in the "NOW" section of the main Weather Watcher Live window was not displaying properly when the rate was 0.

FIXED: When viewing the temperature in Celsius, the small temperature number (Feels Like) was not being converted to Celsius.

FIXED: When installing new versions of Weather Watcher Live, the "Map Upgrade Assistant" window was not waiting for a response before Weather Watcher Live was started.

FIXED: The hours were not being displayed in the slider at the bottom of the "NOW" section of the main Weather Watcher Live window when the slider was set to "Hours" display and the Weather Watcher Live Options window "General" tab --> "Use 24-hour time system" box was checked.

FIXED: When searching for weather stations, the last letter of some weather stations names was being cut off.

FIXED: When Weather Watcher Live was set to minimize on startup, it was not minimizing when the condition icon was set to display in the system tray.

FIXED: The map in the "NOW" section of the main Weather Watcher Live window was not displaying at times when the map was cached.

FIXED: When the severe weather alert sound was set to play until acknowledged, it was not stopping after being acknowledged.

Weather Watcher 5.6.28

FIXED: The map(s) selected in the "Wallpaper" tab of the Weather Watcher Options window were not the same maps that were displaying as the wallpaper.

Weather Watcher 5.6.27

FIXED: The format of the observed date at the bottom of the forecasts.

FIXED: The ordering of the map list in the "Wallpaper" tab of the Weather Watcher Options window.

FIXED: Included a modified GetFile.exe file to prevent "memory could not be read" errors on weather updates.

Weather Watcher Live 6.0.0.36 (Beta)

I had to revert back to the Weather Watcher Live 0.0.33 build this morning due to an issue with the Weather Watcher Live 0.0.35 build. As a few others reported in the Weather Watcher Live forums, build 0.0.35 would crash when attempting to open the main Weather Watcher Live window when minimized to the system tray. I just released build 0.0.36 to correct this issue. The new build can be downloaded from the following link:

Weather Watcher Live 6.0.0.35 (Beta)

A new Weather Watcher Live beta has been released to take care of the majority of issues that have been discovered this week. The new beta can be downloaded from the Weather Watcher Live download page.

The changes are as follows:

ADDED: Sunset to the "NOW" section of the main Weather Watcher Live window for weather stations outside of the US.

FIXED: Daily forecast was not displaying for some weather stations outside of the US.

FIXED: When Weather Watcher Live was minimized, clicking on the Weather Watcher Live tray icon too many times sometimes caused the main Weather Watcher Live window to be permanently hidden -- until the next time Weather Watcher Live was restarted.

FIXED: Links going back to WeatherBug.com were not always pointing to the page for the specific weather station that was being used in Weather Watcher Live.

FIXED: The map list in the "Wallpaper" tab of the Weather Watcher Live Options window was out-of-sync with the map URLs.

FIXED: When the slider on the "NOW" section of the main Weather Watcher Live window was set to "Hours", the hours were not always displaying above the condition images in the slider.

FIXED: When Weather Watcher Options window "General" tab --> "Use 24-hour time system" box was checked, the hours listed in the "HOURLY" section of the main Weather Watcher Live window were only displaying with two digits (e.g. "13" instead of "13:00").

FIXED: Depending on the Windows regional settings being used, the day names in the "HOURLY" and "DAILY" sections of the main Weather Watcher Live window were not always displaying the correct day name.
